Mama: “My Grandpa Nelson has huge lilac bushes at his cabin, so there is a strong memory of my family and heritage associated with lilacs. When the flood came through, it killed the bushes from about 3-4ft down, but the core survived and kept growing, so they are resilient through trials. I love the colors of the flowers and the green together, that’s my favorite color combination, somehow it represents life to me. They smell wonderful, the aroma sends me back to my childhood, simplicity and joy…”

Em, these lilac photos are beautiful! It was nice to check in on your blog and look at your cute photos. (Love the one with Rawl mowing the lawn!) And I just wanted to tell you that your tea party was SO much fun. I learned a lot and had so much fun. The food was yummy, and I feel like I really met some neat people.
