My sister in law April, has a tradition in her family where they open up one gift, a Christmas book, on Christmas Eve. We adopted this tradition for our family and found it delightful because where underwear and socks won’t be exciting on either Christmas Eve or Christmas, a book is noticed, treasured and anticipated on Christmas Eve, where it could get lost in the shuffle on Christmas morning. Giving a Christmas book each new year, not only adds to the Christmas anticipation for the next morning, but then enriches the Christmas season for the next year.
Here is a book that I would like to turn your attention to as your family enriches your Christmas collection this year, whether it be a Christmas Eve surprise, a book to set by your night light or reading nook, or a book to bring out with some popcorn and hot cocoa during the Christmas season.
“Taking life’s hardest opportunities can bring life’s greatest gifts” Cory Mitchell from Finding the Chance.
Finding the Chance is an inspiring story of a very regular man, Gabriel. Gabriel is you or I, he is a man in need of a chance.
…A perfect story for this season where our hearts are softened and open to the possibilities for a life with more clarity, a life with more peace.
This is not a conveyor belt Christmas book; overly sentimental with an over-used plot; although you may cry like I did, but a very real story,
with real emotions, real conflicts, and a resolution that could bring something new to your life this year.
