Today I saw this wonderful video by Apostle Robert D. Hales about what the priesthood is (inserted below) and it got me to thinking about how this has blessed my life… Priesthood may sound like a different word to you, but it is a very special title for the power of God, as witnessed by his Apostles in Acs 10:34-43 and He has given this power to worthy prophets through out time, including his holy twelve disciples (Mark 6:7, 12-13) that they might be able to act in the name of God, in only righteousness.  It is through out the Bible, (for example, see James 5:13-14), but only close studiers of His word will find it there, because Satan wanted it to be lost and misunderstood, especially in our generation proceeding Christ’s second coming; Satan knew it could help us the most, so he helped it be lost somewhat in translation.  Like I say, His priesthood bestowal is still described there for the honest in heart to find, because God also protected it in the King James Version.  He has always ordained and called men to do his work in His name, and He has a lawful pattern in this ordaining and calling.  (See Hebrews 5:1, and 4, and Exodus 40:13)

Young worthy men receive a portion of this priesthood, the aaronic priesthood.  You could see it as a set of keys, only the prophet has the whole set of keys, but every worthy male has access to a portion of this power.  These young boys are able and authorized to bless the sacrament on Sundays that we might eat the bread and drink the water and take upon Christ’s name so, thus renewing our promises at baptism that we might be able to maintain the gift we were given then, the gift of the holy ghost.  This gift is most precious and helpful in a difficult and confusing world, given that we might have greater access to His Spirit, which guides us just a little more in God’s service.  Righteous choices merit the visitation of the Spirit or Holy Ghost to all Christians, and all baptisms are beautiful in His sight toward his children that are obeying the principles of His gospel with His command to be baptized.  However, those who are baptized under His proper authority and in His name, discern the blessings of extra guidance, comfort, joy and love they experience because they have been bestowed with the constant companionship of the Holy Ghost which they maintain as long as they remain worthy.   It is a real gift, and Jesus gave it on Earth when He was here, and now through His servants continues to baptize that we all might be closer to Him in his Gifts.

My father and my husband, have this priesthood.  Bless the heart of men, you are wonderful people, but having the priesthood is an added bonus in dealing with women, and children…when you have a loss of words, a loss of understanding for our complexity.  My father gave me blessings that healed me when sick, that comforted me and gave me direction, comfort which was priceless to me especially in my teen age years.

A special priesthood blessing I received helped me know when I was nigh unto my most anticipated life event….finding a wonderful companion and help meet.   The  priesthood doesn’t forecast the future, the Lord sees fit that we walk by faith, but it does indeed help one prepare for more fully for life’s events.   My husband has given me blessings which have helped give me so much love, and support, and guidance.  I am thankful for My Man, but I am especially thankful for the tender and guiding additional qualities that come from first of all his righteous choices, and additionaly his priesthood that amplifies, and refines those godly qualities in him.

Thank you my Riley for being that righteous priesthood leader in my life.

And to those of you whom feel injusticed in why women don’t have the priesthood too, know that we are given exceptional gifts imbeded at birth, inherant in our blessed and own feminine nature, that merit worship from the angels when we fulfill and choose to live those internal qualities.  Our roles are unmistakenly priceless and no one can take our place.  The men need the leadership of priesthood to help them preside over families, but with out a righteous woman quietly but full of integrity helping to lead the family, they could never fulfill their role.  We all know who is the real leader and climate indicator of the family, its the woman, but if you want to share the load and let your man give you all the help you need, help him become a righteous priesthood leader, and you will feel the team the Lord inteded you two to be!

I know this post could be conceived as condescending, and believe me I do not intend it that way.  Christians all around me are living the gospel so beautifully with out the priesthood and gift of the holy ghost that it is inspiring to me.  Yet I know from experience the difference it has made in my life, as well as heard accounts from countless others, so I must share that quality of help and happiness I have recieved through the priesthood power through which came the bestowal of my dearest gift, the constant companionship, as I continue to repent, of the Holy Ghost.  And if I did not share with you this true testimony, I would count myself a most selfish servant!  Love, and blessings to you all!

~ You don’t have to take my word for it!  He answers the prayers of His humble penitent followers.

Speaking of hearing, a few weeks ago, I found out that Riley has never touched a q-tip to his ears, and that the last time for his ears to be cleaned out was probably 25 years ago when his mother did it for him!!!  So we immediately remedied that situation.

But yesterday I was pondering if he might medically need some earwax removed, because often I will have to REALLY yell when I am in my bedroom, ridiculously repeatedly!!!

So last night, I had Hazel on my lap, and she said the fan was ‘cold’, and I was lazily writing in my journal not in the mood to move, poor Riley, I called him, and said “Handsome!!!!”, not very louldly mind you, and there was a fan full of white noise to loose my voice echos, and he came….right away!~~  :)

I wasn’t performing a test at the time, but realized immediately, though it won’t hurt to visit the dr.’s to see if there is an accumulation of wax build up….his hearing is determined….

Selective.
